The Lonesome River Band

THE LONESOME RIVER BAND has been one of the most popular and influential bluegrass acts on the bluegrass circuit over the past 25 years! Band leader, Sammy Shelor, is considered one of the premier banjo players in the world and his peers have voted him “IBMA BANJO PLAYER OF THE YEAR” on FOUR separate occasions! Lead singer, Brandon Rickman, and fiddler Mike Hartgrove have both qualified as finalists in the IBMA “Male Vocalist of the Year” and “Fiddle Player of the Year” competition respectively. The band has had two songs on the “BU Top 30” throughout 2009 including “Them Blues” which topped the charts!
